DOWSIL Q3-6611

Main features

  • Self-Leveling Flowable Dispensing
  • Temperature-Controlled Rapid Cure
  • High Tensile Strength

Product Description

DOWSIL™ Q3-6611 Adhesive is a one-part, heat-curing silicone adhesive formulated for electronic and automotive assembly applications requiring flowability, adhesion, and mechanical durability. The material is designed to flow, fill, and self-level after dispensing, enabling efficient sealing, gasketing, and component attachment processes. With no mixing required and cure speed controlled by temperature, DOWSIL™ Q3-6611 supports flexible manufacturing operations. The cured adhesive provides high tensile strength, unprimed adhesion to aluminum, and reliable performance across a broad operating temperature range, making it suitable for demanding assemblies including engine controllers, ABS modules, transmission controllers, connectors, and lighting systems.

Key features

  • One-part heat-cure silicone: Eliminates mixing requirements while allowing cure speed to be adjusted through processing temperature.
  • Flowable, self-leveling behavior: Flows and fills after dispensing to support sealing, gasketing, and component attachment applications.
  • High-strength adhesion: Delivers approximately 850 psi lap shear adhesion to aluminum after cure.

Applications / Suitable for

  • Sealing lids and housings
  • Attaching baseplates
  • Gasketing applications
  • Connector sealing
  • Engine controller assemblies
  • ABS and transmission controller assemblies
  • Automotive and industrial lighting assemblies

Specific Gravity
Specific gravity (SG) is the ratio of the density of a substance to the density of a reference substance; equivalently, it is the ratio of the mass of a substance to the mass of a reference substance for the same given volume. For liquids, the reference substance is almost always water (1), while for gases, it is air (1.18) at room temperature. Specific gravity is unitless.

Physical Properties
Viscosity
Viscosity is a measurement of a fluid’s resistance to flow. Viscosity is commonly measured in centiPoise (cP). One cP is defined as the viscosity of water and all other viscosities are derived from this base. MPa is another common unit with a 1:1 conversion to cP. A product like honey would have a much higher viscosity -around 10,000 cPs- compared to water. As a result, honey would flow much slower out of a tipped glass than water would. The viscosity of a material can be decreased with an increase in temperature in order to better suit an application
